Rugby fans may still be celebrating the Digicel Fiji 7s team’s historic win in Dubai but Coach Ben Ryan believes the players are still not fit enough.
Ryan earlier said after the Gold Coast 7s that the team lacked match fitness but he will work something out before the Dubai tournament.
After the win in Dubai Ryan said there were some improvements and it’s a good starting point.
Meanwhile, FRU Acting CEO Dr Berlin Kafoa said this is a beginning of a journey for Fiji with Ben Ryan at the helm and the challenge now is consistency in South Africa this weekend.
Fiji will play Australia in it’s first pool match for the South Africa 7s at 11.28pm Saturday, France at 2.34am Sunday before facing Scotland at 6.14am Sunday.
