Government’s rural integrated approach will ensure people's needs are heard and met.

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama while speaking at the Kadavu Provincial Council meeting, said that from his recent visits to the province of Kadavu and Gau, he heard from villagers that having civil servants visit them is something that is rarely experienced.

Commodore Bainimarama said that because of this he has taken the integrated approach to ensure that civil servants do not forget their role to serve the people, something which should not be taken lightly especially in the rural areas.

The Prime Minister said this will also ensure the unnecessary wastage of funds, as in the past, one ministry would either overspend or not get the necessary funding to carry out their work.

He added that with the new approach, ministries will be able to save money by working together.

The Kadavu Provincial Council meeting continues at the Studio 6 Hotel in Suva.
