Three rural schools in Sigatoka, Tavua and Tailevu north will receive the much needed assistance from the Australian Direct Aid Program which had approved around $30,000 for various projects.

The Australian High Commission confirmed that students of Nalagi Public school in Sigatoka will benefit from new furniture and library books as the school received $11,663 to improve the quality of education at the school.

The children of Savatu Primary School can also breathe a sigh of relief as their school received $6,500 to purchase a new water tank. The school often faces water cuts causing disruption to their education.

A grant of $11,300 was also given to the Rotary Club of Suva North to assist with its building project at Natovi Catholic school to renovate the dormitories which houses 200 children catering for students from 20 villages in Tailevu.
