The former Fiji 15's star who was trying his luck to get back into the 7s code has been dropped by National 7s selectors.

Rupeni Caucau who made his name in 15's rugby had high hopes of playing for the Digicel Fiji 7s team in next year's Rugby World Cup 7s tournament but it may not become a reality.

Caucau was not included in the 30-member training squad released by FRU yesterday although he attended the fitness test last month called by coach Waisale Serevi.

Chairman of selectors and Fiji rugby coaching director Ilivasi Tabua said Caucau was not included because of his previous disciplinary record and to get back in the 7s fold, he will have to prove himself that he has changed.

Tabua said Caucau will not be considered for the Dubai and George 7s tournaments but if he manages to work on his discipline, he could be considered for the other tournaments next year.

Caucau has hit the headlines before regarding his discipline when he played for Auckland Blues in the Super 12, the Top 14 competition in France for Agen and lately when Leicester Tigers were waiting for his arrival to join them for the Guinness Premiership competition.
