High Court Judge Justice Nazhat shameem is expected to make a ruling on June 27th whether the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption can prosecute the case against the suspended Commissioner Central Inoke Devo.

Devo was charged by FICAC with corruption and abuse of office.

Today DPP Lawyer Elliot Anthony and Lawyer's representing Devo made submissions on the application from Devo that FICAC is not empowered to prosecute cases under the 1997 constitution.

Devo's Lawyer Davenesh Sharma told Judge Justice Shameem that charges of abuse of office is a white collar crime and the DPP should prosecute the case through expertise from a Fraud Unit.

The matter has been adjourned till 27th June where Justice Shameem will deliver her judgment.
