A Natuicake rugby player escaped serious injury while playing for his club during the Suva Rugby Club competition at Albert Park this afternoon.
Lasaro Dau who was playing at hooker was rushed to hospital when he injured his neck in a scrum against the Police club. The match was abandoned after the injury happened.
Dau is now recovering at the CWM Hospital and is wearing a neck-brace as he waits for his x-ray reports.
Also today in a pre-season Sanyo Cup competition match, Suva this afternoon at Ratu Cakobau Park's Number two ground, defeated Tailevu by 12 points to 9 and Naitasiri defeated newly promoted team to major division Rewa by 15 points to 6.
Meanwhile, the Air Pacific Fiji Barbarians defeated the Air Pacific Fiji Warriors by 29-7 at Labasa's Subrail Park.
