The 12 provincial rugby unions taking part in the Skipper Tuna Cup this year are highly likely to receive $29,000 each as financial assistance from the Fiji Rugby Union's consortium of sponsors.
This has been revealed to Fijivillage by Nadroga Rugby Union President Tiko Matawalu.
Matawalu said this is an increase of $7000 compared to the amount given to them over the past years.
Matawalu confirmed that they were also given the draft rules and regulations for the competition but there are some contradictions brought up by the major unions.
Meanwhile, the Skipper Tuna Cup is expected to be launched next week with Tailevu taking on Lautoka next Saturday at Ratu Cakobau Park.
