Rugby runs in the family for Domolailai
The 23-year-old former Sigatoka Methodist High School student who plays for Nadroga was overjoyed today as he was one of the seven new players named for the Gold Coast tournament.
Domolailai, who is the younger brother of former Flying Fijian Isoa Domolailai, said he just wants to follow his brothers.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Police officer Apisalome Waqatabu is also in the team.
Originally from Naividamu village in Macuata, he made his debut for the Northern Sharks in 2006 and was the speed star of the undefeated Police team back in 2010.
After being transferred to Sigatoka, he was in top form and never hesitated to play for Nadroga.
The team to the Gold Coast 7s is: Apisai Domolailai, Manueli Laqai, Ulaiasi Lawavou, Leone Tabuarua, Alipate Raitini, Samisoni Viriviri and Apisalome Waqatabu, Ilai Tinai, Joji Ragamate, Lepani Botia, Osea Kolinisau and Samuela Saqiwa.
Botia will captain the team and will be assisted by Kolinisau.
The Gold Coast Sevens kicks off next Saturday with Fiji playing Scotland at 2.42pm in its first pool match.
Fiji will play Tonga at 5.58pm and will then play Australia at 9.46pm.
