What went wrong in NZ and what can be done to rectify the situation as we get ready for the USA 7s.
These issues are now being analysed by the 7s management as Head Coach, Alivereti Dere has said that some things that have occurred behind the scene leading up to the NZ 7s has resulted in one of the worst performances by the Digicel Fiji 7s team where we even got knocked out of the bowl competition.
Dere said he wants to know why the players did not play upto the expectation of the managers and the people of Fiji.
Dere said various views of the rugby public are also creating chaos.
He is now seeking answers what went wrong in Wellington.
Dere said he could not communicate with Assistant coach, Timoci Wainiqolo during the pool games on Friday as there was something wrong with Wainiqolo's phone.
He said the six pillars for the national 7s team needs to be assessed which include the wellbeing, welfare and holiness of the players.
Dere said it seems that these pillars are not being followed fully.
When asked about the lack of game plans, the almost non-existent defence and the confusion on how to attack when the players had the ball, Dere only said that the players did not deliver.
We also asked Wainiqolo who was with the team in NZ.
Fiji Rugby Union Chairman Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga has defended the Digicel Fiji 7s team saying that they are a talented team and need more time together.Colonel Tikoitoga said fans must understand that most of them were new players who featured in a big tournament for the first time.
Colonel Tikoitoga said they will retain the same team and train them for the upcoming 7s World Cup.
