Waikato may be in danger of losing Sione Lauaki overseas but they are about to develop a loose forward of similarly monstrous proportions in Fijian Dominiko Waqaniburotu in the upcoming Air New Zealand Cup competition.

With Lauaki's All Blacks career stalled since last July, there are strong indications he could take up a clause in his New Zealand contract and head offshore, making this his final campaign for Waikato.

But the Mooloo machine keeps pumping out back-rowers with Waqaniburotu the latest on the production line.

The Fraser Tech blindside stands at 2.01 metres and weighs 111kg.

The Fijian has speed and skills to go with that size and has already made quite an impression.

Waqaniburotu made his first Waikato appearance in the final preseason match last Friday, helping them to a 28-24 win over Taranaki.
