Rugby is culture in Nadroga - Matawalu
As of last Saturday, the Stallions have managed to retain the Farebrother Sullivan Cup for a record of 100 times since the inception of the Farebrother Sullivan challenge and they have held the Farebrother Sullivan Cup for a record of 9 years in-a-row from 1971 to 1979.
Speaking to Fijivillage today, Nadroga team spokesperson Tiko Matawalu said that rugby is the culture in Nadroga.
Apart from the Farebrother, they have also held the Fiji Rugby Union Cup (under various sponsorship names) including the Digicel Cup in a record of 21 times.
Nadroga has also contributed the highest number of rugby players to the Fiji national rugby 15s and 7s teams than any other team in Fiji rugby history with the likes of Mitieli Nacagilevu, Juita Lutumailagi, Emosi Vocago and even the coach Esala Nauga.
Suva will be challenging Nadroga this weekend at 3pm at Lawaqa Park.
