The Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Association Executives met last night to discuss complaints received from ardent Suva Grammar fans who argued that the deciding penalty kick by centre, Saiasi Mataitoga went through the post.

When contacted by Fijivillage, FSSRU Secretary Waisake Tuicakau said after having reviewed the semifinals disc several times, the committee came to the conclusion that the kick dropped right beside the post but fell outside.

Tuicakau added they received a report from the referee, Napolioni Locoloco, and linesman Takape Volavola, who were nearest to the posts and both confirmed that the ball did not go through the post.

Another difficulty the FSSRU had faced was getting the best referees to officiate at the games as most went on duties for the Digicel Cup matches that were also being held on Saturday.

However, the FRU is liaising with the Fiji Rugby Union to have at least referees Samuela Tuidraki or Joeli Tubu officiate at this weekend’s Coca Cola Zero Deans finals.
