Fiji soccer team striker Roy Krishna will attend a trial with top A-League club Wellington Phoenix next month in a bid to secure a contract with the New Zealand-based club.

Krishna is being eyed to replace star player Shane Smeltz, who will be featuring for Gold Coast in the new season.

Wellington Phoenix chief executive Tony Pignata confirmed to NZFC that Krishna will link up with the club next month.

Krishna scored eight goals in a minor premiership winning regular season for Waitakere United and added three more in the playoffs.
