Inspirational Waitakere United soccer team striker, Roy Krishna is one of the leading nominees for the 2011 Popular Footballer of the year award.
Krishna will be best remembered for providing Maciu Dunadamu the golden opportunity to score against Ba in the Courts IDC final last year which gave Labasa victory after a long 17 years.
Rewa goalkeeper, Simione Tamanisau who led the team to their first Inkk Mobile BOG win at their home turf at Ratu Cakobau Park last year is also a top contender.
Other nominees include Tavua’s Jone Salauneune, Ba’s Avinesh Waran and Nadroga’s Aaron Underwood.
The Fiji Football awards night will he held on the 25th of this month.
