The island of Rotuma will not celebrate the Fiji Day celebrations in a big way, as they will not have the military or police band to provide entertainment.
However District Officer Rotuma Lewis Ting said they will go with the resources they have by using the string bands and Rotuman dancers.
Ting said the four schools in the island will take part in the oratory contest after the flag raising ceremony.
The District Officer highlighted the main problem faced in Rotuma is transportation.
Rotuma will join celebrations with the other parts of Fiji.
