The Rotary Pacific Water for Life Foundation last night celebrated the completion of their one hundredth project since its establishment in August 2007.
The foundation has so far spent close to $1.2 million on these projects and it has benefitted more than 45,000 people in rural areas who now have access to clean drinking water.
Foundation Chairman and one of the major sponsors Vodafone CEO Aslam Khan said they are planning to complete some more projects by the end of this year.
He said they have received another two hundred applications from villages and they are processing the applications.
Khan added they are trying their best to assist those in rural areas that do not have access to drinking water.
Fiji Water who is also a major sponsor and provides funding to the foundation said their main aim is to assist the poor people in the rural areas.
Director David Roth said they are pleased with their achievements and will continue to help the foundation in future.
