One of the world's largest humanitarian service organization, the Rotary Club, has provided emergency relief to the victims of the tsunami which struck the Samoan Island nearly a week ago.
Rotary assistant district governor Bob Niranjan said about 150 emergency kits have been provided along with clothes and household items.
Niranjan said that some of their members have been in Samoa since the second day of the tsunami.
He added that they are planning to send a team from Fiji.
Meanwhile, according to Radio New Zealand, a national memorial service was held in Samoa to commemorate those who died in last week's tsunami.
A half day public holiday was declared to mark the occasion.
143 people died in the disaster leaving thousand homeless.
