Rotary Club marks successful year
Club President Aslam Khan said this is a new initiative for the Rotary Club to achieve universal success, assisting those in dire need through strategic partnership.
The Rotary Pacific Water for Life was also recognized for making a difference to the lives of 16,000 people in the rural areas through their water projects which cost $625,000.
Some people who were recognized for their contribution were Air Pacific and Watson Seeto for their support during the flood that hit the country in January this year, Joel Sahai, Robin Mitchell and Fiji Prisons Service Commissioner Iowane Naivalarua, to name a few.
Some of the work done by Rotary Club of Suva East establishment of Rotary Fiji Education Trust, saw the completion of the $62,000 scholarship payment to 400 students, and the completion of water and sanitation projects which cost more than $620,000.
