Wayne Rooney marked his return in style after he scored the winner for England this morning in the 1-0 win over Ukraine in the group D match of the Euro 2012.
Rooney's goal has confirmed England's place in the quarters where they will play Italy on Monday.'
Rooney said he feels great scoring in his first match.
Wayne Rooney believes England can win Euro 2012 after he took the English into the quarterfinals by scoring the winner against Ukraine today.
Rooney headed home a deflected Steven Gerrard cross in the 48th minute.
Rooney said that they are group winners and are ready for the quarter-final match against Italy on Monday.
Meanwhile, France will play defending champion, Spain in another quarter-final on Sunday. France lost to Sweden 2-0 this morning but already had four points with them to sneak in for the quarters.
In the other two quarter-finals Portugal will play Czech Republic on Friday and Germany will take on Greece on Saturday.
