Fiji born British Army soldier Semesa Rokoduguni who plays at wing for Bath rugby club has been included in the England Saxons squad to face the Irish Wolfhounds next week.

This is a step closer for Rokoduguni to become the first Fiji born player to don the England jumper.

The Saxons is the shadow England side and 26-year-old Rokoduguni qualifies for England through residency, having served in the British army since 2007.

This is not the first time England have included players from the Pacific after Samoan Manu Tuilagi and Tonga-born Lesley Vainikolo played for the Sexons but Rokoduguni is the first serving soldier to be called since the era of Tim Rodber and Josh Lewsey.

Rokoduguni said he was inspired by former national sevens rep Aposoli Satala who also played for the Army side but never featured for the Sexons.
