Joe Rokocoko reckons he's feeling the best he has all year as he gets ready to become the All Blacks most capped winger and also attempts to break his long try drought in Saturday's Tri-Nation Test against the Wallabies.

Becoming New Zealand's most capped wing should be a moment to savour for Rokocoko, but he realises longevity is no guarantee of avoiding rugby's equivalent of a gold watch.

Rokocoko makes his 64 test appearance against the Wallabies knowing it would be good for his career to break a five game try less streak that started after the Sydney test against Australia last September.

He has been preferred to specialist winger Zac Guildford, and Hosea Gear and his experience guaranteed an inclusion against the Wallabies though even his loyal defender Graham Henry acknowledged the scorer of 46 test tries was still on trial.

Rokocoko only found out yesterday he was on the brink of a history making test and considered it a "huge honour".

Asked how far he could extend the new benchmark, the softly spoken finisher could not offer an end point.

The Wallabies and All Blacks Test match kicks-off on Saturday at 10pm.
