Two men charged with attempted robbery were today handed down suspended and partial suspended sentences by the Suva High Court.

The court heard that on 8th August this year, Filimone Drauna and Viliame Rokolewenivesi attempted to rob the complainant in Nasinu and during this time the two also punched the complainant.

The two snatched the complainant's wallet however they returned it to him upon realizing that there was no money in the wallet.

The two who are 23 years old pleaded guilty to the charges.

Judge Justice Daniel Goundar sentenced Drauna to 12 months imprisonment suspended for two years while Rokolewenivesi who is not a first time offender was handed down a partial suspended sentence.

He will spend 6 months in prison while the other six months of his sentence is suspended for two years.
