The Suva High court on Friday adjourned handing down a sentence on two men charged with robbery with violence after one of the accused told High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar that he wanted to personally apologize to the victim.

This is in relation to the case where two men, Wallace Wise and Ratu Meli Bainivalu are alleged to have on the 17th of April this year entered the house of 61 year old Shiu Ram in Nakasi at 2 o'clock in the morning and terrorized the family before taking off with $200 in cash and $440 in Jewellery and assorted items.

Bainivalu pleaded with Justice Goundar to allow him to apologize to Ram as he was sorry for what happened to the family.

The Court heard that on that morning, some men broke into the house and Ram hearing the noise woke up and was attacked by the men who were armed with pinch bars.

Ram received injuries to his arms and chest.

Bainivalu asked the court to consider the fact that he was not involved in the break-in and was standing outside keeping a look-out incase Police came.

Justice Goundar has ordered the State to produce 61 year Ram in Court next Tuesday so that the accused could apologise to him and then a decision will be made on the sentence to hand down on Bainivalu.

Meanwhile, Wise is expected to be sentenced on the 8th of next month.
