A robber is fighting for his life at the CWM hospital after he was attacked by a house owner whom he and his two accomplices tried to rob last night.
Media Liaison officer Atunaisa Sokomuri has confirmed the three, armed with pinch bars entered the house of an Asian businessman at Rewa Street not knowing that the businessman was fully prepared to confront them.
As the robbers tried to attack the family, the businessman attacked one of the robbers with a cane knife. The robber received a deep cut to his stomach and is currently admitted at the Intensive Care Unit at the CWM hospital.
The robber collapsed and became unconscious at the scene while his two accomplices fled.
He was taken to hospital by police and the house owner. Police are continuing their investigations.
Meanwhile, Police have taken the 25yr old man of Nadera, who allegedly knifed a police officer from the Mobile Unit, to St Giles for a medical check up.
Police PRO, Sokomuri confirmed the alleged incident took place in Laucala Beach, when two officers from the Mobile Unit were patrolling yesterday afternoon and saw the man roaming around with a cane knife and when officers tried to question him, he attacked them, resulting in one of them being seriously injured.
