The Public Works Department has confirmed that there was some major damage done to roads and bridges in the interior of the Central/Eastern Division by the flash flooding over the weekend.
Spokesperson, Sainiana Waqainabete said PWD workers are working around the clock to repair the damage in Naqali and some areas of Nausori and Deuba.
She added it is difficult to estimate the cost of damage at this stage.
A number of roads in the Eastern Division were closed to all traffic over the weekend due to flooding and landslides.
