Residents in the Northern and the Western Division can breathe a sigh of relief as the Department of Transport and the Divisional Roads Engineer have declared some roads safe to travel on.

The Waidamudamu Road has been opened to light vehicles, Kubulau Road in Natewa, Buca Bay Road in Savusavu, the Natewa West Coast Road and the whole of the Natua Depot has been opened with residents called upon to be cautious as some parts of the road may be soggy in certain sections.

All roads in lautoka, Nadi, Nadroga and Ba along with the Kings road have been declared open.

The Nakorotubu road, Nabalabala road and roads with in the Rakiraki area have also been opened.

Meanwhile, the Labasa East Depot which includes the Nayarabale Road, Vunivutu road and the Lakeba Road is still closed, along with the Naduna and Wairiki Roads in Labasa, the Wailevu west coast road, Nakobo road, Dakuniba, Natewa and Vusasivo roads have also remained closed.

As some of the roads may in certain parts still be soggy and because of the possibility of landslides in certain areas please be cautious on the roads that have been opened up.
