The Divisional Engineer Roads Northern A.S Fernando said some road projects in the North are on hold as they are now waiting for the Interim Government to release funds.
Fernando said they want to upgrade some bridges between the Nabouwalu and Labasa Highway which urgently needs some repairing.
Meanwhile, Fernando said road conditions between the Nabouwalu and Labasa Highway is in good condition and drivers only need to be vigilant on the road and should not blame road conditions for accidents on the roads.
He was reacting to claims that bad road conditions lead to a fatal accident in Lomaloma a week ago which resulted in the death of a 48 year old man.
