As residents in the greater Nasinu area continue to express frustration at the deteriorating road conditions, the Department of Roads is currently trying to establish how much it will cost to upgrade these roads.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Director Roads Rapheal Smith said they are aware of the poor road conditions in some areas in Nasinu and they are carrying out studies to ascertain the costs to repair these roads before putting proposals to cabinet.
Smith added that they will also make a request to cabinet soon to allocate adequate funding to the various town councils to enable them to take over the maintenance of roads as it is still the responsibility of the Public Works Department.
