The National Road Department in the west is now awaiting the Ministry of Finance to provide around $1.6 million to start repair works on the infrastructure in Ba, Lautoka, Nadi and Rakiraki which were damaged by recent floods.

Speaking to Village News, Acting Senior Engineer Roads, Munsami Naidu said they are hoping to get the repairs done before school starts as some roads in the west are still closed.

He said they are carrying out temporary repairs as they await the funds.
