The Digicel Fiji Sevens team will need to be in their best form in South Africa this weekend to retain the number 1 spot in the points standing.

Leading with 39 points after the Dubai Sevens, the Watisoni Votu led side is 7 points ahead of England who they lost to yesterday.

In the Nelson Mandela Bay Sevens, Fiji heads Pool D with Wales, Portugal and Zimbabwe but the pathway to the final becomes trickier in the quarter-final stages.

If Fiji comes out as pool winner or runner-up they will meet with teams from Pool A which has England, Samoa, Argentina and USA in the quarter-final showdown.

The semifinal showdown will either be against South Africa, New Zealand or Australia.

Fiji will play Portugal at 10.37pm this Friday in their first pool match, then they will play Zimbabwe at 1.43am Saturday and the last pool match is against Wales at 6.32am.

The cup quarter finals start at 11.44pm Saturday while the cup semi finals start at 3.59am Sunday.

The Cup final will kick off at 6.40am Sunday.
