A total of $70,000 dollars has been spent by the Roads department to clear up roads that were affected by Cyclone Gene.

During his assessment of damages over the country, Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama was informed that over the past few days the Roads department had to clear the roads of fallen trees and debris in order to restore normal traffic.

Meanwhile, Bainimarama has stressed that flood prone areas such as Nausori, Labasa, Navua and Nadi needs to have their rivers dredged to avoid a repeat of the flash floodings.
