Road Death toll now stands at 61 compared to 51 for the same period last year following the death of four Asian tourists around midday today.

A total of 8 Asian tourists were in the bus which left Nadi to the Nausori Highlands this morning for sight-seeing, when the tourist bus went off the road.

Director Traffic SSP Ramend Raj told Fijivillage that Police Officers are still at the scene carrying out investigations.

The bus driver is admitted in hospital.

Meanwhile, Police await the post mortem report of the 68-year-old taxi owner of Tavua, who died yesterday after the vehicle he was driving collided head on with a Pajero driven by a 23-year-old school teacher of Tavua, before any charges are laid.

The 23-year-old who was driving the Pajero was allegedly speeding, and as a result he was unable to negotiate a bend in Loloma and as a result the Pajero collided head on with the deceased's car.

Also Police are expected to complete their investigations into the accident along Savutalele in Tacirua on Monday afternoon that claimed the lives of 4 people.

The 4 died at the scene of the accident after a PWD truck collided head on with a minivan.
