Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa has reluctantly accepted the resignation of Mick Beddoes as Principal Administrative officer of the Opposition Office.
Kepa respects his decision and says he was a great patriot.
Kepa says Beddoes was a dedicated administrator with a highly developed sense of the political environment.
She says he has played an invaluable role in the operations of the Opposition office and led their small office team well in difficult circumstances.
Kepa adds they have learnt so much from him about the importance of loyalty and dedication to duty.
Meanwhile, Mick Beddoes says he is resigning because there are some personal matters which he needs to deal with.
He says there is no fallout within the Opposition office and he is leaving after clearing his name of all false allegations.
He adds that he will continue to support the Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa.
Mick Beddoes will leave the Opposition office as Principal Administrative officer on the 31st of this month.
