Fiji should look at expanding its trade network and further trade relations with other countries other than its traditional trade partners.

Interim Trade Minister Tom Ricketts said under the South-South Cooperation, Fiji could look at developing exports and investment opportunities with countries in South-East Asia, South Asia and the Middle East like Dubai.

Ricketts added the Interim Government has engaged aggressively in promoting investment opportunities and creating a conducive business environment for investors.

He said Fiji should also look at exploring opportunities available under the Pacific Island Countries Trade Agreement or PICTA as Fiji will be able to trade under this Agreement from 2009 and the Economic Partnership Agreement, when it comes into force after negotiations.
