Rewa High Chief, Ro Filipe Tuisawau said the decision by any chiefs in his province to join the new look Great Council of Chiefs will be up to the individual chiefs but it will not change the stance of the province of Rewa in opposing the People Charter and the Great Council of Chiefs Review Task Force.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Ro Filipe said they know the Interim Minister of Fijian Affairs will invite some chiefs from the province to join the GCC and they will allow them to make the decision for themselves.

Ro Filipe hopes that good sense will prevail between the interim government and those provinces who oppose the GCC Review to come to a understanding that will be good for the nation.

Yesterday, GCC Task Force chairman Raty Josateki Nawalowalo highlighted that there are some Chiefs from the 7 provinces who have rejected the GCC Review team that have shown their interest and support to join the new look GCC if their provincial councils do not submit any names.
