The Rewa Soccer President, Faiyaz Ali has confirmed that they had known before hand that the three Nigerian players were to come in to Fiji for the Inter-district soccer tournament later this month.
Speaking to Village sports, Rewa Soccer President, Faiyaz Ali said that the main reason for the chaos at Nadi Airport was because the Nigerians did not confirm to them of when they were arriving.
Ali adds that Rewa Soccer did not lose any money, as the sponsors from the Argo Club in Nigeria covered all costs for the three
Under-20 players, who were just coming in to showcase their talent.
Ali states that the player may have acted in the manner in which he did out of frustration, when they were told to go back in the same aircraft, and has apologised for all that he had said, as he did not mean to harm anyone.
