Good news for the people in the Rewa Delta as there is a way to escape from the continuous flooding in the area.   

A contract for the Rewa river dredging project was awarded today to the China Railway First Group Limited by the Government and work will start in thirty days time.

At the signing ceremony, Permanent Secretary for Agriculture, Mason Smith said Government has allocated $8.9 million and dredging works is expected to be completed by March, next year.

Smith said at the time of the dredging 1.2 million cubic meters of spoil will be removed.
