The Rewa soccer team has retained the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants soccer title after beating Ba 2-0 in the final at Ratu Cakobau Park.
Brothers Iosefo Verevou and Epeli Saukuru scored for the Delta Tigers in front of around 6,000 soccer fans.
Verevou opened the account for Rewa in the 30th minute of the first half after a mistake by Ba goalkeeper Misiwane Nairube who couldn’t properly clear the ball.
Ba applied pressure and Avinesh Waran Swamy and Maveliko Nakama almost scored but their powerful shots hit the left post of the Rewa goalmouth.
Super-sub Epeli Saukuru scored in the injury time to make sure the BOG trophy stays in Nausori.
Rewa Coach Marika Rodu said they knew they had the capabilities to beat Ba and come through with the victory.
