A lot more can be expected from the Rewa soccer team in the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants soccer tournament after the team defeated Ba 2-1 in its opening fixture yesterday.

In front of a jam packed 8,000 crowd at TFL National Stadium, the Delta Tigers showed class and didn't allow Ba to settle down.

It was Ratu Veresa Toma who opened the account for Rewa with James Naka nailing the coffin just minutes before the half-time.

Ba's Avinesh Swamy got a late consolation through a free kick.

Rewa team coach, Manoj Kumar said yesterday's win was important but there is room for improvement before the tournament officially starts this Thursday.

On the other hand, Ba coach, Farouk Janeman said this was a usual start for the Men in Black as they always start on a low note.

Meanwhile, in other results yesterday Lautoka beat Nasinu 2-0, Labasa and Navua drew nil-all and Suva and Nadroga drew 1-all.

The tournament officially starts at Nadi's Prince Charles Park this Thursday with Lautoka playing the first match at 5.30pm against Nadroga. You can catch the live commentary of the match on our sister station, Radio Sargam.
