Delta Tigers Rewa defeated Ba 2-1 in their opening match in this years Inkk Mobile Battle of the Gaints soccer tournament last night.
Player/Coach Marika Rodu led by example as the home side scored the opening goal.
Rodu's 40 yarder attempt on the 12th minute from near the left hand touch line found the Ba goalie napping.
Rewa led 1-0 at the break before Ratu Veresa Toma scored the second goal in the second half.
Ba did not seem to have the fire power but Malakai Tiwa scored a consolation goal before they were reduced to 10 men.
Rodu said a win over traditional giants Ba is a perfect morale booster in their bid to retain the silverware.
Rewa will be in a tough battle in their next match against Labasa tonight who so far have won both their matches.
Looking at other results from last night, Labasa thumped high flying Nadroga 4-0, Suva defeated Nadi in injury time by 2-1 while Navua beat Savusavu 2-0.
Looking at today's matches, the first match will kick off at 1pm with Savusavu taking on Tavua then at 2:15pm Lautoka will face Nadroga, 4:45pm Suva clash with Navua, at 6pm Nadi face Tavua, at 7:15pm Ba face-off with Lautoka and the last match of the day at 8:30pm, hosts Rewa clash with Labasa.
