The situation in Koroqaqa, Nausori, is worsening.

A resident and a bus driver Ramesh Prasad said the Rewa River is continuously rising.

He said many people from Baulevu could not go home due to huge trees which fell on the road however the Fisheries Department workers helped in cutting the trees and removing it from the road after which the road was open to all traffic.

He said they do not have power supply in the area and many power lines have fallen on the road.

He said the Baulevu High School has been opened as an evacuation Centre and all the families living across the river have taken shelter either at the school or gone to other higher places.
