The Rewa and Southern Forest Navua soccer teams will go into this afternoon's FMF/Blue Gas Battle of the Giants opening round as favourites to win on their respective home grounds.

Rewa, who will take on Nadi at Rt Cakobau Park, have some seasonal players in the likes of Kamal Hassan, Lorima Dau, Samuela Vula and Joela Baledrokadroka.

Playing at home the delta tigers will have an upper hand against Nadi who will be fielding a very young outfit.

In another game, Navua, with the services of most of the players from the Fiji Fact win, will be hungry for a win at home in Thompson Park.

Soccer commentator Raymond Stoddart believes the team taking part in this week's opening BOG game, have the advantage of playing in a 90 minute game while those who will be playing next week will be playing in a 60 minute game.

The match between Navua and Tavua will kick off at 3pm while in the other game at the same time at Rt Cakobau Park, Rewa will take on Nadi and this match can be heard on our sister station Radio Sargam.
