Rewa Backs 1993 Regulation
While reacting to Commodore Frank Bainimarama's comments this morning that the provincial councils and Bose Ni Vanua should play their parts to ensure that the GCC sits, Ro Teimumu Kepa said Rewa would stand by what is legal and lawful.
Ro Teimumu said the Bose Vanua of Rewa and Rewa Provincial Council are united on the stand that whatever is legal and constitutional is right and no one can change their stance.
Commodore Bainimarama said it was now up to the Bose Vanua of all the provinces to nominate their members to the GCC as that will depend on whether the GCC meeting will go ahead.
He also stressed that it was not the job or the responsibility of the provincial councils to accept or reject the GCC promulgation as the councils are statutory bodies and are an arm of the government.
