The Fiji Employers Federation is of the view that the revised budget announced by the government is fair and will assist to rebuild Fiji's economy.
Chief Executive, Nesbitt Hazelman said they are also heartened that government will reduce expenditure by $75 million in total and that its net projected deficit level is being reduced from earlier projections.
Hazelman said that from the Prime Minister's announcement that Government will now be adopting international public sector accounting standard is long overdue and a welcomed move.
The Employers Federation said that reforms on civil service must focus on improving the general culture and service delivery while at the same time reducing its operational cost.
According to Hazelman, the Federation believes and continues to advocate for an efficient, transparent and cost effective civil service and to this end they are supportive of government's progress in bringing about these changes.
The Employers Federation said the re-organization of key government companies such as the Water Authority of Fiji, Fiji Electricity is positive and they hope that it will deliver uninterrupted services in the near future.
Meanwhile, Hazelman said the reform of FSC is still a work in progress and businesses will be eagerly awaiting more positive results from the sector as a direct result of the reforms being undertaken.
