The Fiji Indigenous Business Council is calling on the interim government to review its decision to redirect 60% of the Fiji Development Bank's financing towards the resource based sector.
Speaking to Village news, FIBC President Ulai Taoi said the decision will severely affect their members who are considered as medium enterprises.
According to Taoi, a survey of their membership shows there is a drastic decrease in business forcing some members to close operations.
However, interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry earlier stressed that the FDB will not stop providing finance for the corporate sector and medium sized enterprises as the only change being undertaken is to change the ratio of its lending.
He added with the FDB will target to try and get 60 percent of its funding into agriculture assistance and only 40% on others.
