Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited has issued a directive to all its subsidiary companies to review their operations and staff numbers to cut back on costs.
ATH Chief Executive Officer Tomasi Vakatora said in line with steps taken by Telecom Fiji which laid off 170 workers earlier this month, Vodafone, Connect, Xceed, Transtel and Fiji Directories Limited have been told to look at areas where costs can be reduced.
Vakatora stressed that such measures are necessary due to the tough economic climate in which they are operating.
