The National Fire Authority is recommending that all business houses review their risk management practices and make the necessary improvements promptly.

This is after the fire at Aarkay Motors in Vatuwaqa on Saturday night.

The NFA said that the review management practices could include considering watchmen services and fire wardens set up as the first line of attack while the fire brigade is on the way.

Fire Chief Tupou Saubulinayau said with regards to Aarkay Motors, poor building construction contributed to the fire however the cause of the fire is still unknown at this stage.

Fire investigations will be conducted by the NFA and the Police Department.

The building sustained 80-90 percent damage with over 50 cars and $300,000 in stock completely destroyed in the fire which started at around 8pm on Saturday night.
