The National Fire Authority Chief Executive Officer has once again called on business houses to review their risk management practices and to make the necessary improvements immediately.
Joseva Gavidi's call comes after two recent cases of fire that completely destroyed Aarkay Motors Limited on Saturday and a fire at Curry House last night that could have been disastrous.
Gavidi said a quick call to the National Fire Authority helped reduce the impact of fire.
National Fire Authority received a call last night around 9.44pm, and when the fire crew arrived at the scene the crew saw smoke and flames emitting from the Curry House building top floor.
Quick action by the fire fighters prevented the fire from damaging the whole kitchen and neighbouring shops.
Investigations at this stage reveal that the fire started in the Curry House kitchen where a stove burner was not properly switched off and a large frying pan containing cooking oil left on the stove had burned over and set the stove and its surrounding area on fire.
