The Nasinu Mayor said the Review / Reform Committee appointed to do a report on municipal councils was just a waste of ratepayers' and taxpayers' money.
Rajeshwar Kumar said he does not agree with Interim Local Government Minister Filipe Bole's comments that the interim government's decision to maintain the three year term for councils was based on numerous serious complaints by people against municipal councils and this was done in their interest.
Kumar said if the decision to dissolve the Municipal Councils was not based on recommendations from Review Committee, than it is of no use and is a waste of money.
Bole had earlier said that the decision to dissolve all municipal councils was made this year in July and the report of the Review/Reform Committee on the Municipal Councils will be submitted to the Interim government for consideration before it is released to the public.
