The Mineral Resources Department has called on members of the public to return all banned fireworks they had bought in previous years.
Principle Inspector, Ian Fong said they are closely working with police to ensure people do not use banned fireworks.
He said people can be fined or face jail term if they breach the law.
He adds that police and their enforcement officers will be monitoring the selling and usage of fire crackers by members of the public.
Also please use common sense and be very careful during this Diwali long weekend.
